Well, they should be pretty lengthy, but not too long as people won’t want to read through the whole thing. Try to have a different paragraph for background and personality, maybe even any relationships or friendships the character may have. Putting key points about the character at the end of the bio is always good, too.
Threading paras, while difficult at first, is an interesting way to para. It keeps the dash clean, and makes for less annoyance to others. See a tutorial here.
